International Festival of Young Choirs and Orchestras
29th March-1st April 2012 (Thursday-Sunday)
 Introduction
The young2012prague festival will be already the tenth in the line of youngprague festivals. The event was established in 2003 and within few years became known wordwide as most popular venue for young people aged 8-26 who have an active interest in music and choir singing. Organisers again, like the years before, expect to welcome a thousand young people from all over the world in 2012. Friendly, cultural ambience of Prague as a venue is unique. Participants will have a chance to show their talent and skill, meet new friends and at the same time to enjoy the beauty of the most attractive city in Central Europe.
Festival concept
The festival shall consist of two parts: Category A - public presentations; category B - competition. Participants shall be young orchestras and choirs in both categories.
A) Public presentations
Participants - choirs, orchestras and other music ensembles (even non-traditional) - shall have one or two performances and will learn and rehearse and perform one joint composition with all the other participants.
B) Competition part
The orchestra competition shall have four categories
a) symphonic&string orchestras
b) brass music orchestras
c) jazz orchestras
d) other music (pop, folklore...)
In all the orchestra categories one composition from a Czech composer shall be compulsory. Detailed information shall be posted on receipt of the preliminary registration form.
The choir competition shall have four categories
a) mixed choirs
b) boys/young man choirs
c) girls choirs
d) children choirs
In all the choir categories one composition from a Czech composer shall be compulsory. Detailed information shall be posted on receipt of the preliminary registration form.

The dates of young2011prague are
29th March-1st April 2012 (Thursday-Sunday)
Festival organiser
The festival is organised by EVENTS BOHEMIA in co-operation with MUSIC TRAVEL AGENCY PRAGUE.

Package price includes:
- participation fee in YOUNG2012PRAGUE programme
- three overnights in a hotel of your choice
- three breakfasts
- three dinners in a hotel
- guided city tour of Prague
- night river cruise
- services of a local guide for all festival programme activities in English or German language
- one free place for every 20 paying participants
Accommodation is in three-bedded rooms in 4*hotels and 3*hotels.
Usual solution in 2* hotels is that two twin-bedded rooms or twin and tripple rooms share private facilities.
The prices are valid provided that there are at least 60% of young people/students up to 26 years of age in a group.
The price does not include:
transportation. (Please note that organisers would be happy to arrange transportation to/from festival functions as per your requirements.)
